Vampire Survivors: Duplicator Explained

Duplicator is Vampire Survivors’ Amount passive — more projectiles and weapon instances per activation. It’s how single shots become barrages.

What Duplicator does

Duplicator increases Amount (extra weapon projectiles / activations depending on the weapon). More Amount means denser screens and faster clears when paired with cooldown and Might.

When Amount is high priority

  • Projectile weapons (Knife, Magic Wand, sacred beams, etc.)
  • Builds that already have Empty Tome online
  • Late-game greed once survival passives are stable

When to skip it

  • Aura weapons that care more about Candelabrador Area
  • You’re missing an evolution-critical passive (Bracer, Spinach, Hollow Heart, etc.)
  • Early run is a movement emergency — take Wings first

Duplicator vs Candelabrador vs Tome

PassiveJob
DuplicatorMore hits / projectiles
CandelabradorBigger hitboxes
Empty TomeHits more often

Endgame monsters stack all three. Early on, take whichever finishes your first evolution, then fill the rest.

Build tip

Duplicator + Tome + Spinach is a classic damage triangle. Confirm evolution pairs in How to Evolve Weapons so you don’t greed Amount before the passive you actually need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Duplicator help every weapon equally?

Projectile and multi-shot weapons gain the most. Some weapons scale awkwardly — still usually positive, but evolution passives come first.

Is there an evolution that requires Duplicator?

Some weapons/paths use Amount-related pairs depending on version — always check the in-run collection page.

Should beginners take it early?

After one survival item and your evolution key passive, yes — Amount makes mediocre kits feel rich.
